How is everybody else doing it? I know Blink doesn’t currently offer arming and disarming using geofencing. Any chance to have geofencing implemented directly from Blink ? it's a good idea but life360 drop battery so fast for me. The Life360/IFTTT system failed twice today -, leave home = failure rate 50% and checked that all location related services are persistent and sleepless etc. Just a camera that may or may not be working. I’ve yet to try an option suggested by @marktheknife, which was to use IFTTT in conjunction with Life360’s geofencing, which he says is much more reliable. I know Blink doesn’t currently offer arming and disarming using geofencing. UPDATE - November 2018 Now all useful information that Life360 provides is pulled every 5 minutes this information includes PLEASE NOTE: The presence part of the app still runs on original code or manual refresh Address1 - In the UK only seems to... Auto-suggest helps you quickly narrow down your search results by suggesting possible matches as you type. The answer BOTH is iPhone A and iPhone B but I am only allowed to select 1. That's not feasible for me. Wyze camera in ifttt do that and i find works better then location on galaxy phones, Can you give me a overview of how to set that up. Each person’s phone needs to be added as a mobile presence sensor. I have since been in the house, as is my phone, and it will suddenly switch me to being away from home, then a few minutes later, will say I am back in it. That’s my prediction and you read it here first. @Sung_Sam: Calm down. I can I can do something similiar with IFTTT and Life360 but I find it very hit an miss. Like @suttyblink said, I’m not sure how that could’ve worked. But it also offers mobile presence detection, which uses your phone’s geolocation function. Has anyone tried this? All I want to do is to auto-arm blink when person 1 AND person 2 have left the house. I have other devices that geofence fine - it can’t be that hard to do? But then I just get alerted while the other family member moves around the house. I have been through the forums and confirmed my geofence is set up corrrectly, and there is not a schedule that is interfering. I'll try increasing the fence size. Asking Alexa to arm or disarm Blink and inquiring about the last recorded clips is a lot nicer than having to open the Blink app. But then I just get alerted while the other family member moves around the house. Not when one or the other leaves. I did get a chuckle about not buying 5 more systems. Zero firmware change. [RELEASE] Life360 - Refreshed Every Minute & All Places & More... ☆☆☆☆☆ OR ☆☆☆☆☆ I’m not the best at giving written directions, but did you join the ST community? SmartThings Community – 26 Jan 18 (If I find the will power to keep working on this!). Second, there are _plenty_of people on here that “have a clue”. First of all, this is Blink’s feedback area. Now I need to find a way to do it Witt my hue lighting but only after a certain hour. My cameras are monitoring the living area and hallways which are in constant use, so the batteries would run down very quickly if the cameras were on while we were there. Only thing you can really do is create as many applets as possible based on your other integrations, if you have any that have the home/away status. I’ve given the appropriate apps the most battery allowance I can, We hope you'll join the conversation by posting to an open topic or starting a new one. Sorry for all the questions!! Hope I’ll see improvements over the next couple of days, It’s useful when you use it to augment other hardwired cameras. This can be used to geofence via IFTTT, which I will try for a couple of days. Do a search for Life 360, and you should find his comments. I thought I could connect the sync module to a smart plug that has reliable geofencing to disable the camera when at home,- but the blink camera stays connected even if you unplug the sync module - fail…. And your dataset is based on what? New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast, More posts from the blinkcameras community. Thus my question is, is there a better way to do this with or without Life360 and/or IFTTT. I think I’ll be confident within a week of testing. Any suggestions? @Blink - get someone with a clue on this forum. Out of curiosity, what seemed particularly intrusive to you? Though Blink has decided to charge for geofencing (the ability to automatically ask the camera to arm and disarm based on your presence), they have left us with three new freemium features. It’s damaging your brand. Dedicated wifi router >>>> geofenced smart plug I'm concerned however, because it has blinked in and out while I was sitting in my office, totally unmoving and didn't move my phone. I have read that ITTT with Life 360 works but I don’t know anything about Life 360 but as your setting it up it looks really intrusive (am I wrong here?). I gave up on IFTTT’s built-in geolocation years ago, and it would appear as though it hasn’t gotten any better recently. Has anyone got geofencing to work reliably using any method? Unless you try to reverse engineer their non-public API somehow. This has happened 5+ times over the last 18 hours, and I haven't left home. I hear that blink has dropped all support for SmartThings. Won’t work for me in that case. PM me. thanks again. You can use Life360 to make an IFTTT applet that will arm blink when everyone in your Life360 circle leaves home, or disarm Blink when the first person in your circle arrives. If you want a security system, consider other solutions. I have read that ITTT with Life 360 works but I don’t know anything about Life 360 but as your setting it up it looks really intrusive (am I wrong here?). If no success, it’s time for me to give up on Blink and put it in my failed security camera graveyard. My wife and I have mobile presence setup on our phones, our nanny has a keyfob on her keychain. My issue being the IFTTTT method is not very reliable. I made two, one to disarm on arrival at a Life360 location, and one to arm when leaving that same location. If someone enters your home, there’s not much you can do to discourage the person. arrive home = faliure rate 50%. I was fortunate, because I made a call as soon as I arrived, so I had a record in my call log to identify exactly when I arrived. I’m now done with you and will no longer respond. Not sure why we need v2 for that. I give in. After owning a Blink for a bit, and living with its limitations, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s just a camera system that records video after sensing motion, Thats it. Amen. A product will never improve with that kind of mindset. Visit our support page for answers from simple setup to security optimization. If your idea of being helpful is to insult people giving constructive feedback then you probably don’t belong here. Turns out I didn’t notice that the blink app takes 1 to 2 minutes to update status, Thanks - really important not to overlook this. It’s a bit of a self fulfilling destiny. Press J to jump to the feed. When I create the IFTTT recipe I am prompted with a screen asking which device needs to lose proximity in order to arm Blink. Cool! A preset schedule only works if you’re living alone, retired and/or have a job with a very predictable / redundant routine. It has many improvements and new features. I use tasker and home wifi connected trigger to do that. The default android location service does not update nor work for me.
