Please help support the Gretsch Pages through Paypal. Most of the other companies who released neodymium speakers had to go back and reengineer, but Jensen got it right the first time. I don't like the sound of the Celestion Golds, the Blues are just way too expensive, and I don't like anything Weber makes. In 1984, I designed and built an amp for touring with X and I used that on every gig from 1984 until 2014. The 1960 Concert amp was 110 watts through eight 10" Jensens. THis photo was in Brazil a few years ago with Pearl Jam. I agree with the sound guy being their to help me sound good... hence the reason I started this thread... my amps are typically to loud for the clubs we are playing (no more than 350 cap) and sounds guys get upset but I cant seem to get the feedback or tone when going smaller (or havent found the right amp yet) Also the drummer complains that he cant hear guitar (typically sound guy mistakes), slow and steady but we are still in the stages where we get a good sound guy 50% of the time and a proper sound check 25% of the time. As General_Lee suggested, the P12Q might be an option. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. Still can't hear anything over 10kHz! My circuits are all new and innovative. " It's on it's side in this photo because that head won't sit over the handle. Billy it is all there. celestion has blue, ruby, gold and creamback alnico 12's!! Personally, I'm using a Jensen P12Q in my 57 Tweed Deluxe Reissue. The Quad Reverb was about 120 watts through four vintsge Celestion Green Back G12-30's. While it may not be as efficient as the other mentioned here, I'm really enjoying it's vintage flavored voicing, especially for jazz and blues based material. He has since stated that he is "cancer-free" but will continue receiving chemotherapy treatments. I also tried playing with the amp facing back at the wall and miced but I that screwed with getting the necessary feed back. Celestion makes some great speakers, and for more Voxy upper mid tastes in alnico, there's something for everyone. It has the cheap ceramic Jensens. By the 3rd album, we were on Elektra and had enough time and roadies to have all of my amps ans guitars brought to the studio so I could just pick the most appropriate one. The first two X albums were recorded mostly using a Traynor 50 watt bass head and the ZOOM 4-10" cabinet I talked about earlier. I don't have the Traynor Bass head because it was never mine. It was brand new and priced at £5, so I took a punt and put it in my Vibrochamp. by LeftyStrat » Tue Dec 27, 2011 5:32 am, Post It's quick, easy, and much appreciated. At least for now I'm limiting myself to 20 watts or less. looking like this. When this was taken, I was already building my X super amp. I use a Weber 12A125A and a 12F150. In a total side note I do want to say I hope your health is well. For a long time I had a G12C/S which sounded pretty good, wgs says these are smokey/darker speakers but I didn't notice that in the amp with my playing, and the Veteran 30 will put me in line with a Vintage 30. You're too loud. by LeftyStrat » Tue Dec 27, 2011 7:20 am, Post Just one thing, that Billy Zoom guy is an idiot. Coming back to the reissues, I just replaced the Weber 12F150 in my silverface Princeton Reverb with a reissue Jensen C12N, that was well broken in. Pack up your sh** and get out of my club.
